Happy to have my 3rd half marathon in the books!! It was a rough one this time. I ran the first 7 or 8 miles with a friend, who is a bit faster than I am - even though it was his first half. With the month I took off for my knee, I didn't put quite as much training into this one as my last half. I was having a tough time keeping the pace in the beginning, but stuck it out until I knew I needed to slow down, and let Scott go. Ended up slowing down by about a minute per mile on the last three miles. I'd stop to walk for a few seconds, then pick up and run again, repeat. Finally made it to the finish in 1:49:37. Better than my first, not quite as fast as the last one. But I'm very happy to have it completed. I really hope to start training for some shorter, faster races now. Maybe do some longer mileage training for them, so I can easily jump back into another half plan in the near future, but I don't foresee ever doing a full marathon. I started training for this full marathon, and ended up getting hurt because I really like the shorter, faster races...overtrained. I think I'm slowly finding out, and settling into the type of running I like, finally!!
