Foam roller for the IT band is a big help for me! Got me back on the roads without any pain pretty quick.

yes, I agree completely. I did a bunch of self-diagnosis research last night with google, and every picture and explanation pointed directly to IT band syndrome. I'm not sure if I've got the full fledged "syndrome" or not, as I can't quite figure out if it's an "injury" or an irritaion, but it's certainly looking like I need to be smart and try to fight it off. I'll be using ice, stretching, and less hills for a while. Hopefully the mileage can continue. Thanks for all the help and ideas!!
