The Fanny Freezer lived up to its name with cold temps, bone-chilling winds and somewhat slick conditions in places. The race was two loops at a local park that has a nice-sized hill. I've done some training runs there so I knew what to expect. I had really been hoping to go sub-27 but it just wasn't in the cards. I had to stop in the first quarter-mile to tie my shoe and slow to adjust footing in places. I never checked pace during the entire run, instead just trying to go hard but not hit the puke-threshold.
I forgot to change the lap setting on my MOTOACTV, so my splits are ever quarter-mile. The only lap over a 9 min pace was the first when I had to tie my shoe. I haven't run sub-9 for an entire run since I had Miles so I can't be upset with the way it turned out. It was a great, fun race.
