Group start today for our last training in the lake. Water is still 57 degrees, and the waves were crashing over top as we swam; bloody windy today!

thanks Michael - the day is looking much better with winds well below 10mph; no whitecaps on the lake today! Race day looks to be in the upper 60's to mid 70's and no threat of rain anywhere.

So how was IM CDA?
7 months ago • Like
well, I finished, but my time was my worst ever. Literally froze coming out of the water to the point where I was shaking uncontrollably; had to sit in the warming tent for a good 10 minutes, then headed onto the bike course.. bike felt good, although didn't push it at all (averaged ~15.5); felt good for the first 6 miles on the run then t body started to shut down. Got sick a few times, and ended up walking most of the second 13 miles.. but, found enough energy to run through the finish line at 11:43pm.

two of my teammates didn't finish. Funny how a little hypothermia can change the course of your day!

I was wondering how the water was going to be. Sorry about your teammates. That's hard to be done so early into an IM. That's amazing you finished even after getting sick a few times. Usually when people get sick in an IM it is the fast track to the med. tent and no finishers metal. Good Job
