Wanted to run 12m, but my leg/hip thing started acting up again. Kind of a bummer. Just when I thought it started getting better. I hate teetering on injury.

Tempo run on the tready, post-bike. 0.5% incline. Was actually going to run 10K, but hip started feeling a little achy, and I still had the run back home.
Random hills workout. First half at level 16; second half at level 17. Drank close to 30oz of water. Surprised the thing didn't malfunction from all the sweat.
Nice snow flurries on the way there (6:35). Soaked to the bone on the way back (6:42).
Tired again. Took it easy, since it's a run-focused day, but thinking of skipping my tempo run tonight. I haz a sleepy.

Hopefully the difficulty in finding races will mean they won't sell out as fast :-)

Tired legs. When I could, I focused a little on BreathPlay, which I'm slowly getting the hang of. Riding through Downtown Brooklyn during rush hour is an endurance sport unto itself.
Pretty tired today, so just took it easy. Low and slow; that was the tempo. Tried to focus on form. Felt really good coming off the walls for some reason. Maybe cause I was taking it slow and focus... read more
Bit windy and frigid out. Legs are tired. Top of the bridge was sorta icy and frozen. Fingers were numb by the time I got into Manhattan. Nothing a protein shake can't fix!
Now that I'm running again, my calves and lower back are back to getting sore, so need to be more vigilant about doing this routine. I generally like routine, and loathe change, but this one's been... read more
Ended up losing twenty minutes of swim time looking for a lifeguard to sign my NYC Swim cert (yay), then waiting for a lane to open up, but managed to squeeze in a decent enough warmup.
Finally. A real run! Forgive me, Father, for it's been a week since my last real one. You.. you don't gotta yell.
Felt a little weird, at first. Like, I didn't know how to pace myself. Legs wanted... read more

Zippy ride home. Had a 9-4 meeting today (ugh), so getting out of the office just before 5pm meant missing a bit of the rush-hour crowd.
Practiced using BreathPlay today; which I didn't quite get ... read more
Variation on yesterday's workout. Since I did the 100s yesterday, I inverted that into a 400 today:
Warmup:
* 500 easy
Tempos:
* 1x 400
* 2x 300
* 3x 200
Cooldown:
* 100 pull
* 400 easy

Skipping my long run today, so hopped in the exercise bike after the swim. Random hills workout. Did the first half at level 16, second half at level 17. Feeling way better on the bike, which means... read more
Nice work-out. I always struggle when I have to sit on the bike for that long ( I get bored and distracted), so I'm impressed. Nice job.

For some reason, nothing makes me sweat more than an exercise bike. And even tho it's not a real substitute for cycling, it's good strength building for 90% of the same muscle groups, and those hill programs can be challenging.
