The morning brought rain and I didn't have the guts to go out in the rain, it is one thing to have rain while running but starting to run and rain coming down doesn't sound appealing to me. So I waited til mid-day. One of my neighbors traded babysitting with me--I watched her little one for two hours in the morning and then I sent mine over and hers so I could go out for a run. It works out great!
Ran 6 miles in my new Newtons. I am falling in love with them. They offer cushion to the ball of my foot and I like it. My Brooks didn't, not from the start and I thought it was a good trade off for a pair of light running shoes, however, the Newtons offer me cushion and a super light ride. I have the Motion style pictured here: http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/products/NWT101/
Like I said, they are cushy under the ball of the foot and quite flexible, I feel my toes push off the ground! They are the pair for me. I don't know if they make me run faster but they sure give me a pleasant run and my feet feel great not bruised as before.

Rod, are you running the St. George Marathon?

No I didn't get in? Are you in it?

Nope. It seems that I don't carry much luck when it comes to lotteries. I also put my name in for Lotoja this year but I didn't get in.
I think I'll just have to stick to the TOU marathon...that one doesn't get full.

Middalia,
So far, I like my Newtons. I have used them twice: Sat and today and my feet have responded quite well to them. No pain anywhere and I didn't really have to break them in.
If you are wanting to try them out, I suggest going to RoadRunnerSports.com and get a pair. They have a 60day trial period, if you don't like them you can return them no questions asked.

Darrel-I am so thrilled to have a sub 9 pace for a little bit. I have been wanting to run sub 9minute miles for the last year. The only problem now I want to go down to a flat 8, LOL.
