An epic run. My first ever 18 miler. It wasn't easy by any means, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. My body was ready for a long run-I guess cycling for 8+hrs has helped my endurance. It was painful at points. My right knee on the outside kept bothering me. I had to walk one time to let my knee feel a little better.

I had my wonderful hubby with me. He carried my water and GU. He was a great support for me all along the way. He rode his mountain bike next to me all along. Just shy of one .5 mile from home, he got a flat :(, but we were glad that it happened so close from home.

When I got home, I was tired. Really tired. As I reached for a drink, my hands were shaking. I had given the run my all...it felt great!

I am a bit tired now. I took a little dip in the tub with cold water and some ice; I'll probably have to do that again later.

BTW: we took our little Flip with us so I'll upload a few tiny videos later of our scenery.

Great job Isela. Now that it's behind you I know you feel more confident in your training and the end is in site--you're doing great. Once you get past that first marathon, before you know it you'll be training for your first Ultra or Ironman; and I'll be watching your training and cheering you on all the way. Best regards.
