I have let a single puncture be my pathetic excuse for more than two weeks of not riding.

Well, the last two months have been focused on finding new work moving house and other odds and ends, so training has taken a backseat.

I'm now living 300km from where I was staying before. From b... read more

Good luck!!! As you may have seen, I went through similar changes in jobs lately. I no longer work from home and I no longer work from 6:30-3:30. I never realized how difficult it would be to get adjusted to a new schedule. At least I haven't changed locations.

    greatBlitzer (long) 24.52 km 00:52 17.6mph pace

Pushed up the speed of each interval section by 2km/h. That's the easiest way I have to adjust intensity without a HRM or power meter.

goodRide around the roads up Four... 35 km 02:30 8.7mph pace

Ride with Genghiz. Plenty of site-seeing, stops, rests and picture taking during this ride up the hill. Great to have a climb to 614 meters (from 0m, so close to town).

I looked over the workout drills on that website and decided to try some of them. The one I did was a 10/7.5/5/2.5 with increasing intensity for each one. I think it is good to mix it up, there are benefits to each kind. From what I can gather... longer intervals improve your ability to utilize oxygen, while shorter ones help develop power, speed and ability to tolerate the burn.
