tired Humid Speedwork Attempt 4.73 mi 00:41 08:45 pace

The plan: 10-20 min warmup, 3 x 1600m @ 7:21 pace with 1 min rest intervals, 10-20 cooldown. Actuality: 1.45 mi warmup, 0.95 mi @ 7:21 pace, 3 minutes of gasping for breath, 0.92 mi @ 7:49 pace, 3 more minutes of sucking wind, 1.4 mile cooldown (I started the third 1600 but after 200m I decided it would be best to turn my effort into a cooldown. 70F and 94% humidity, firehose wet, rubbery legs, out of gas. Ugh.

Smart thinking skipping that last almostmile. Sometimes things just don't line up for a good workout. Luckily, doing 2 almostmiles is way better than doing zero almostmiles, so you've given your body some strength and speed! Can't wait for the cooler weather!

I can't wait either, Bobbie. The downside of a training schedule for me is that I feel terrible when I can't complete a workout or hit my goals. Speedwork doesn't seem to be my thing.

That's a great effort, Scott! With that heat and humidity, hitting goal pace is a tall order!
