    good shakeout 3.04 mi 00:25 08:13 pace

Easy 3 miles with a few surges in the end. Also the first time I ran without eating any food. I know it's just 3 miles but I think I can get used to it for easy, short runs.

Lovely shakeout. You know, I never eat before runs--funny how you get so used to something and don't think much about it until you have to change. Just cannot wait to see how tomorrow goes. What an exciting race and great field. Truly wish you the best race possible Prem! You are definitely ready to go.

What!? "Also the first time I ran without eating any food." That's crazy man! You should be able to run a marathon on water alone... some food for thought ;)

Yay for doing something fun enough last night to be a little hungover today! Nice job getting out there and attempting to clear the cobwebs out. Hair of the dog time now if you ask me...

Sounds like such a great run and good post-run beverages too. Love the strong progression at the end. Scheduling the strength work can be so tricky. Because I travel most every week I have kept my 2x strength sessions on Mon & Fri since I am typically home & can go to my gym. But that Fri one does fall the day before my long run. I think at first it was a bit much--but I actually like it now. I feel it is somewhat the equivalent of running on tired legs. But again, it probably isn't for everyone.

Actually you do get a fitness benefit from them even going nice and easy which is a plus. Great way to help aid recovery, loosen up, and get in some extra volume to boot. I tell myself the same thing about the fitness when I am doing them as well.
