Found out that the longest I can run with no food, even very slowly, is about 3 hours. After going 2 and then almost 2 1/2 hours before breakfast, I set out to go long today without eating anything beforehand. After several very hectic weeks of work and kids, I wanted to take my time anyway. Had water after 7, water & endurolyte after 11 and again after 15. Was slowing down and the run was getting harder and harder, then at almost exactly 3 hours, just shy of 19 miles, I bonked like I've never bonked before. I had to stop running and ate the one Gu I'd brought, which tasted like a gourmet meal. I called my wife and had her drive down the hill with water and bananas, which tasted even better. After that, I was able to slowly run up the 1.5 mile hill to the house. Took a 12 minute ice bath and now it's shower and on with the day. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Well, Gandhi wannabe, at least you now know where your limits are. Very solid run and I admire this kind of test. It will come in handy.
