  1. RUN
    injured Dudleyville 8.28 mi 01:10 08:25 pace

Beautiful morning on a beautiful dirt road. Some decent miles, even uphill, but the downhill miles at the end were pretty painful.

Thanks. I've had tendonitis in the groin area so anything over about an hour is hard, and downhill especially so at the moment. I general I am fairly good at downhill because we have a lot of it around here!

  2. RUN
injured School loop 3.4 mi 00:28 08:11 pace

This run is dedicated to the landscaper who first pulled his F350 into the bike lane without bothering to signal, and then, after I'd dodged that behemoth, opened his door right in my path sen... read more

    Progress? 6.65 mi 00:53 07:55 pace

Sawmill course in reverse with a bit added on. Felt pretty good but still get sore after a few miles and cannot sustain a decent pace without a lot of effort.

  4. RUN
Another day, another out and ... 4.7 mi 00:37 07:55 pace

Same run, same sore legs but maybe getting better. Doing planks and banded squats, trying to strengthen the core.

  5. RUN
injured Bike Path 4.7 mi 00:36 07:38 pace

Same as Friday, a bit harder. Felt OK but pretty tight and sore at the end.

  6. RUN
injured Bike Path 4.57 mi 00:36 07:56 pace

Roughly the same distance, effort, elevation, weather as 2 days ago, but a minute per mile faster. Doc says I should continue running but I need strengthening around glutes and abs. Maybe doing zer... read more

Look up the Myrtl routine (Coach Jay) on youtube. It's a good set of core/trunk exercises, and also take a look at his Pedestal routine for some good core.

injured Slow and painful 4.3 mi 00:39 09:01 pace

Every muscle and tendon within 6" of my hips is seriously inflamed. 10 days without running made things worse, not better. Not willing to shut it down completely on the off chance that a month... read more

  9. RUN
    injured Treadmill 2.28 mi 00:20 08:45 pace

Too stressful a day not to run. Wrapped both thighs and did 20 minutes on the TM. Felt like crap but no running for 10 days and I'm worse than before. Appt with local sports doc on Friday. :-(... read more

Joggin' the dog 4.03 mi 00:37 09:05 pace

Took the dog for a run. As we were about to get in the car she went into the deepest muddiest puddle she could find. Must not have been ready to go home yet.

  11. RUN
    Track workout 6.03 mi 00:45 07:32 pace

600-800-1000-1000-800-600 @ ~6:25 pace throughout. Felt like tempo effort at least in short bursts. Was still able to talk in short sentences during the last interval.

  12. RUN
    Jog at X-Country 5K 2 mi 00:18 09:00 pace

Went to watch the race. Jogged with the great Rich Larsen while he did his cool down, after running 19:21 on a hilly dirt course at age 62.

  13. RUN
    Whiting Reservoir 4.35 mi 00:40 09:16 pace

Slow recovery loop around the reservoir. Beautiful day.

  14. RUN
Green River Sunday 10 mi 01:23 08:18 pace

Nice run but a bit faster than I was ready for after yesterday's race and a pretty big week. Ran about 8 minute pace for 7-8 miles and then everything hurt so I jogged the rest.

  15. RUN
Montague Mug Race 5.5 mi 00:37 06:42 pace

This was the first race I ever ran, at age 42 in 2005. I ran about 8:30 pace and finished in 46 minutes and change. Today I ran about 6:45 pace and finished under 37 minutes. Not getting younger, b... read more

Did the "mini" workout (300-400-500-600-500-400-300) at controlled effort. GPS weirdness makes it look like a weird dance. Progressive pace (6:04-5:59-5:50-5:46-6:10-5:39-5:36) with the e... read more

Thanks, Sri. 9 miles with Mark and Apryl on flat bike path, wouldn't say easy but not hard. @Steve, don't know splits but ran in 2nd or 3rd lane because the "mini" is for slower runners so I overran the distance anyway. I pointed out pace because I wasn't trying to run faster, it just happened, which is a sign I'm feeling better.
