I had to go to another pool because the one I usually go to was all booked up and busy with a swim meet. I usually swim 25yd laps, but the pool I went to today has 25m laps, which is over 2 yards longer... so if you do the math, 48 laps in a 25m pool is over 52 laps in a 25yd pool.... not that it really makes a difference. I think it feels the same.
Oh!.... and my mom gave me a really deep (and painful massage) on my lower back, pelvis, legs (the whole sciatica thing) and i nearly cried, but I LOVE it when it hurts because I know it means she's really working it. She's going to massage it everyday for a week. Even when she went back up to my hip socket where it was really painful at first, the pain was only half of what it was at the beginning. She's really good at what she does. My legs feel great. She says that my circulation is bad, which is also stems from the sciatica problem and explains the severe and painful cramping I got a couple of months ago.
She suggested not running, but walking, but I said "But I really really like running" and she looked at me and said "yeah, you always used to run".
On another note, I talked with a therapist today (while at work) and she recommended finding a good massage therapist (got my mom for the next 10 days) and I showed her the exercises I've been doing to relieve my sciatica and she said those were fine.
I'm so glad my mom came to visit just when I decided to get back into running. :)
It might SNOW tomorrow and I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to run in the snow. I love the silence that snow brings. MAKE IT SNOW!
