Spin! The room was so HOT today. Ugh. Extra sweaty time. He pushed us really hard today. It was good. Yes.

MMA private! We worked technique--stick and knives: a cool new drill for multiple people using stick and knife (stick in RH, knife in LH. A swings 1, B passes it and stays close, LA on A's RA.... read more

Another great ski class at Taos. We focused more on tight turns and moguls--but traversing a few, making a tight turn when comfortable, side-slipping to find a comfortable spot, etc. And then I ski... read more

A good-sized snowstorm threw off my groove, but I spent 30 minutes on my trainer at home to make up for it! Sidenote: I decided to sign up for the trail half in May. Still haven't run, and my ... read more

Core class! Floor series on our backs, then a plank series, our lunge series, med ball crunch throws with partner, and finally a med ball+big ball series. The latter was so painful. BUT! I got comp... read more

  7. Opinions needed. I haven't run in over a month, due to a foot sprain (which is feeling good enough that I'm going to try to run on Friday, very short and very easy). The registration for ... read more

I hate telling you this but my opinion is to skip it this year. If it was a flat road race I'd say maybe you could use it as a training run and even that is pushing it for 14 miles after a month off and only a couple weeks to race day. Trail running is different and depending on how technical the course you could end up injured. Focus on building your weekly mileage first.

Well the race day is May 23rd! So four months away... Registration is Feb 1…but I was only running up to about 4 miles before the time off. I'm still exercising, but it's just not like running.

I misread the Feb 1st then. If the race is in May you have plenty of time to get ready.

Barely counts as a workout, but I was restless after MMA, so I hopped on my trainer and biked hard for 10 minutes. Worked up a bit of a sweat and I'm calmer now, so it was worth it. P.S. OMG G... read more

MMA! Took it easy because of foot and major shortness of breath due to chest cold, but still got a good workout. Lots of core exercises, followed by defenses from the ground.
