great Wall Street Run 3 mi 00:21 06:50 pace

76F. 3mi in 20:32. Afterwork race zig zagging thru the financial canyons of lower manhattan, finishing on waterfront before sunset. Meaning to do this as a fun run for ages, can't beat running wild on closed manhattan streets. Lots of corporate teams competing for bragging rights, bibs not assigned to corrals, line-up on honour system, so naturally all the corporates lined up at the front (in the 5 min pace section, lol). First half mile or so was bizarre weave to clear most of them, jumping on sidewalks and around parked cars. Fun stuff albeit annoying to the bewildered throngs of pedestrians. Ended up running it at a strong effort but guy running in a business suit clutching a copy of the Wall St Journal under his arm, finished ahead of me :))

HA! I ran this race once in 2010, I think. It was fun but somehow not fun enough for me to want to do it again. Anyway, you did great Philip!! Strong!!!!

It WAS a crazy bundle of sidewalks and beat up asphalt with all those runners and pedestrians mixed in! Great run today, Philip!

So you had fun!? I knew a lot of friends that ran it and debated (before it closed) but wasn't sure - was nervous for the messy start and such. Great pace in that mob!
