Decided to skip the flat (but pretty) local trail and instead went for some very hilly roads in the area. Took it very easy since some of the terrain is considerably harder than anything I do in t... read more
Nice and easy 8 miles around the neighborhood and on the local rail-trail. Went out intending to do 5, but felt great enough to stay out and go for 8.

Slow run/walk to stretch my legs. Cold & lungs tightened up early on. Even though I was feeling pretty terrible I worked in a few 30 second bursts of speedwork that really got my heart pumpin... read more
Everything about this race went well for me except for the fact that I haven't been training, so I decided to take it very easy. If I'd trained I know I could have broken my PR. I will so... read more
Jumping rope at a moderate clip. Way more strenuous than I expected! I will be doing a lot more of this in the future.
A short 1-2 mile test run in my new Altra Provisions turned into a regular 5 miler because my feet were feeling great! Unfortunately this wasn't the only first I experienced tonight: I also ... read more

Nice recovery / Goofy training run with MDM. 4:1 ratio for first 7 miles at about a 12 min pace, then I walked the last 2.5 due to some stiffness in my right toes.
Beautiful thick fog hung in the air for the duration of this race. It made for a very unique atmosphere!

4:1 ratio once again on my typical 5 mile route. I'm still 4 minutes off of my best 5 mile time, so I will continue to work on getting faster before my next 5 mile races in October and November!
4:1 run/walk ratio. 11:19 min/mile average. I stepped up from my usual 3:1 ratio and felt great throughout! Will probably attempt to push the 4:1 for one of my half marathons this weekend.
Way to go, pwk :)
