good Resting Metabolic Rate testing at SF State 1.5 mi 00:20 13:20 pace

First visit of three to SF State Exercise Physiology lab as part of a calorie study. No food or caffeine for 3 hours before, and no hard exercise for 24 hours before (intervals previous morning = borderline?).

Wired up with an EKG, and breathing through a mask covering my face. Weighed in at 168+ and 5'10-1/4". Then spent 20 minutes resting on my back in a dark room while wired up before doing some measured treadmill work. Nothing hard: standing, then walking at 2mph, then 4.5mph (fast walk), then 6mph (light jog), then walking at 3mph, all for a few minutes each.

And that was it. Barely broke a sweat, but the hard test comes the following week, with a V02 Max test. 2nd visit, on Friday, is hydrostatic weighing for body-fat content. Weighed in on Friday at 167.8.
