Learned a drill to help with freestyle. Did a warmup f/s lap, then a couple laps backstroke after which she gave some critiquing to help my form. Practiced breast stroke kicking w/kick board (still awkward!) It's days like these when I think back (2yrs) to how difficult running seemed at first so I know this will also take time. That, plus I need to buy that defogger stuff for my goggles 'cause I was swimming blind. At least I could make out the flags during backstroke so I knew when the wall was coming!

You'll get there! Drills are always "fun"! You can spit on your fingers and then rub in your goggles. It does the same thing as most of the defoggers, but a lot cheaper and it is always available :-) And, if the saliva doesn't work, baby shampoo or liquid soap are other options.

Way to keep at it. I think it's so true that it's good to keep doing things new to shake up your work out!
As for the defogger stuff - don't! Why? It's a waste of money in my view for 2 reasons. (1) If one of your goals is to do a tri someday - you won't be able to see in the water anyway - so it's good training to swim 'blind', and (2) - I find just some good spit and pool water rubbed in works well - (no joke!).

Awesome! Spit it is! Hope I don't get any strange looks - well, more than I might get now, that is... :-)

Yeah, spit for snorkeling masks, so I'm sure it'll work for goggles. Love seeing your progress and dedication! Kudos for trying something new. Very inspiring.
