Swim Lesson #2 200 yd 01:00 528:00 pace

Also a recovery swim - legs totally needed this after this weekend! I put 200 yd because that was the measurable part of the lesson. Though time for laps was really about 30 minutes. It started with a refresher on what I learned last time, then she had me do some backstroke before moving to a lane. I did a complete f/s lap across the Olympic sized pool, then back. Breathing was better - I wasn't doing it soon enough before. Then did the backstroke across & back. I felt the lesson went much better as I now have a proper swim cap and goggles - made all the difference! I could concentrate on the swim. Ended with an intro to the breast stroke but we worked on the kicking - very strange for me to try to make "frog-like" movements with my legs.

LOL! Wait until you try my old stroke, butterfly! It feels really weird at first but it is a killer workout. I used to be pretty good at the 100m and 200m fly. Glad to hear that the goggles ans cap worked for you! Did you find a suit?

Running trains our legs so differently than swimming. I tried to take lessons last year and never really got the hang of it. Hard to retrain this old dog. You're inspiring me to give it another go though. Keep trucking! Can't wait to see you smash a tri!
