good Big Sur Marathon = awesomeness 26.2 mi 05:36 12:49 pace

blah 12 miles on tired, achy legs ... 12 mi 02:25 12:04 pace

You're an Inspiration:
I'm so impressed that you persevered for the full 12, even when you were not feeling your best (though you were looking strong when we parted at mile 5). It's that kind of mental toughness that will ensure you have a GREAT race in 2 weeks!

No, there was no dancing - more of a classical concert. I think the time I spent on the elliptical Friday night is what did me in. I have high hopes for the taper. Thanks!

Allegedly! :-) I was surprised to see such an intense workout only two weeks or so from race day, but the distances do look to be getting shorter on the horizon. I only need to run 13 on Saturday.

Thanks, Cristy! It was definitely tough - and, at times, depressing and frustrating - to go from marathon training to, well, nothing. I plan to take it slow and do every single thing the doctors tell me to. :-)
