      Just remember Orlando, you can walk any time you feel like it. You just have to do what you can. Take breaks and have lunch if you feel like since the aid station is right there. If you're going to do a 12 hour race, then this is certainly the most fun way I can think of to do it. It's the second 12 hours that worries me...lol

      Good run today Orlando! Your pace leader for that group has been keeping the group kind of on the fast side of that pace anyway. I think last week it was about an 8:48 overall. I don't know what she had you doing this week, but she seemed to be moving pretty good. I'll see you on Saturday you psycho! ;)

    Had a decent workout at the gym considering I smashed my left pinky last night work; it may be broken. I worked out my chest and arms primarily on the machines and ran 4 miles on the treadmill.

      Glad to see ya out there again Orlando! Once I get through my race, I'll maybe be able to run some more miles with your group. Gotta hold back for now though. The running club really does make the miles more fun. Some days we just laugh and joke the whole way and have a blast. Give yourself time to recover. If you want to run on Sundays though, we also have a trail group that meets at Marshall Canyon Sunday mornings.

    Ran an easy 3 mile loop around the neighborhood. Went to the gym and ran another 4 miles on the treadmill after doing a quick 30 minute leg workout.

      That's a good time Orlando. Met you're goal. Of course you can do better, but sounds like a nice accomplishment for this round. When's your next one? I get tight too & do little stretches with my arms every few miles along the way. Must have been hard waiting so long in line. Late start was a gift to me as I arrived late.

    Final workout before race day. 10 minutes on the elliptical machine, 30 minute circuit workout, core strengthening, 3 mile treadmill run, 10 minutes on the rowing machine and 15 minutes in the sauna.

    Good 45 minute whole body strengthening plus a 2 mile run . I usually lay off the weights on race week but decided to try a new approach this time; lifting heavier with lower repetitions: 4x5.

      Glad you could come out Orlando! Sorry I couldn't run with you longer, but I had to slow it way down to get through my 30 today. All the pace groups are cool, and sometimes we laugh and joke the whole time. It makes the miles go by faster. Good luck in your marathon! Let me know how you do.

      Brian, anyone is welcome! We have some fast groups too that you would fit right in with. The club is not meeting this next weekend due to everyone running the 5k in Chino, but the weekend after they will be there. They meet at 7:00 at Butterfield Park every Saturday, and have some smaller midweek runs too if you're interested. Phil used to run with our club. He was nick named Crazy Phil.

      I thought it was nice out today. Was it too hot? I guess it did warm up a bit for running. I'm wondering where all that rain is that we are supposed to get. I got my run done early in hopes to beat the rain, and got a few little drops on me during the run, and then when I was all done, the sun came out. Supposed to be a 100% chance of heavy rain tonight though.

    Quick 45 minute arm and shoulder workout, 3x15 with 30 second rest between sets. Great 5 mile interval run on the treadmill: 1200x5 at 6:45 minute mile pace.
