Short ladder workout, same as the previous time: 2x 400m, 4x 800m, 2x 400m, with equal distance jogs after each interval. Thought I had a better handle on the pace this time, but obviously I still ... read more

Ran in the Paramus Run 10k with my friend Pat, and helped her PR at that distance. Then tacked on a couple more miles to make my quota for the day. Didn't win any raffle prizes, but it was gre... read more

  5. RUN
great along the Charles 16.89 mi 02:28 08:45 pace

Marathon Simulator long run today, and I did the best I could with what I had. Some technical snafus with the Garmin made me have to restart the timer, so I inadvertently went over my distance quot... read more

That's a great workout, Esther! I've found in the past that the metric marathon pace is a good predictor for a fully tapered race pace.

Metric marathon pace, very interesting! No wonder my coach said, in her notes to me, that there is a specific reason for picking that distance. Thanks for the info. :)

  6. RUN
great Boylston and Marlborough 4.1 mi 00:44 10:47 pace

Lazy late morning recovery jog, once again getting stopped by numerous traffic lights. Wondering how that's going to affect my tough long run tomorrow, a marathon simulator of 16 miles at MP...

  7. RUN
great Along the Charles 12.12 mi 01:54 09:23 pace

  8. RUN
great Short Charles 4.1 mi 00:43 10:30 pace

Easy recovery jog on race-weary legs. I don't usually get sore, but today I definitely feel something slightly more than 'creaky'... I really didn't feel like I worked that har... read more

    great SRCP 15 mi 02:24 09:35 pace

I was out so early this morning, I actually needed my headlamp for the first couple miles (a first for me, aside from Ragnar). And it was comforting to see other runners with such lights in the par... read more

great Glen Rock to Rochelle Park loop 10.5 mi 01:29 08:26 pace

Yet another cutdown tempo, but this time I had three 3-mile segments instead of four 2-mile ones. The longer distance gave me more time to get accustomed to the pace and learn the feel of it better... read more

  15. RUN
good Glen Rock to teardrop 5 mi 00:54 10:45 pace

  16. RUN
great GRHS track 9.71 mi 01:25 08:46 pace
