great Hyco Lake 200k++ 130 mi 07:43 16.8mph pace

Was contemplating where to go this weekend - considering Kerr Lake dam but decided on some new (and considerably more difficult) roads up to Hyco Lake near Roxboro, NC. Left at 5am just before sunrise so I didn't see too much before Butner. The way up was pretty uneventful, although it worked out well that I got a light headwind in the morning to help push me back.

Went through Wake, Durham, Person, Caswell, and Orange counties. Saw somebody getting a dirt track ready for racing tonight in Caswell. Somewhere around Orange county, people were on horses playing polo. It may be in the middle of nowhere, but its still Orange county! Somewhere else, there was a church sign that said "Lord, help me control my mouth"

Gordontown road was very scenic - have to make my way out there again someday.

Good luck to everyone racing the midtown race series tomorrow - will see you there!!

    I can't see anything on the map except pink boxes - there are hundreds of them - you may want to check your Garmin......when i go out I have like 6 or 7 boxes ...... maybe check the settings ...... NICE!

    Amazing! You're going to be well prepared for the ride with your coworker. The ride sounds fun - I love seeing the sights while biking. It's a completely different perspective.

    You ROCK. The most I've ever done is 75 mi. and I couldn't walk the next day. You must have legs of steel.
