  1. RUN
    good Rosecrans 15 15 mi 02:05 08:18 pace

Walked the dogs before setting out, waiting for sunrise. Cool and windy, west wind was pretty stiff out in the countryside. Brilliant sun with fast-moving dark clouds made for a dramatic run. Autum... read more

This update makes me want to walk over to Starbucks and grab a Pumpkin Spice latte.

It's warmer again! Feels like rain rolling in soon. ☔️

  3. RUN
good Woodbury Circle Mile 1 mi

Shuffle with the puppies. One puppy turned into a boat anchor and was led back home. Then enjoyed the beautiful weather with trotting puppy.

I heard puppy boat anchor syndrome was going around. It can be serious!! I'm glad you had a back up pup to complete the run with you.

  4. Working from home today. Not going to go for a run until UPS guy visits, though!

  5. RUN
great Gages Lake 6.01 mi 00:43 07:10 pace

Ran some stress off from work. Could probably do this in 42 minutes if I tried.

  7. RUN
    Rollins Savanna 10.01 mi 01:30 08:59 pace

Dark and spooky with the fog. Orion shining overhead when I left the house at 5:09, sun rose as I finished at 6:33.

  8. RUN
good Gages Lake 6.02 mi 00:51 08:33 pace

Ran before work, because tomorrow's 10-miler needs to be before work. Rewarded with beautiful sunrise. Brisk, felt better this morning.

Best part about running in the morning: left work feeling GREAT about not having to run tonight! But... this morning was pretty sleepy.

  9. RUN
good Marsh Makes It 4.79 mi 00:50 10:28 pace

Ran as slowly as I could. Driver yelled at me because I stopped in front of them in the crosswalk. "You jerk! I didn't even hit your spot!" Um, that's nice.

  10. RUN
    blah Horton 21 21.01 mi 03:01 08:37 pace

The moon was shining when I left the house. It was cold, 40's, wore long sleeve shirt and gloves. Was serenaded by a house wren and cat bird while using a porta-potty, that was the high point ... read more

  11. RUN
alright Dartmoor Seven 7 mi 01:01 08:45 pace

Meh. Cold and overcast. Sun came out briefly after I returned home. A bit early in the season for November.

  12. RUN
good Woodbury Circle Mile 1 mi 00:09:47 09:46 pace

In light rain with Thomas and the puppies. TGIF.

  13. RUN
good Dartmoor Seven 7 mi 00:59 08:28 pace

Just under 50 degrees. Crickets sound a little sleepy in the dark.

  14. RUN
good Woodland, Woodland 11 mi 01:28 07:58 pace

I've been running these long Wednesdays in the local forest preserve, but after all the rain I had to improvise something less muddy and flash-floody. This was good. Sidewalks were dry. The te... read more

  15. RUN
good Dartmoor Seven 7.01 mi 00:57 08:11 pace

  16. I ran three hours yesterday. I had to sit through a five hour meeting today. Five hours. It was a struggle to stay awake. I'd rather run five hours than sit through a three hour meeting again.

  17. RUN
good Kingsport Six 6.13 mi 00:59 09:41 pace

Clouds obscured most of the sunset, and then consumed the Super Moon, but I caught a glimpse of both. Evening cicadas fading into chorus of the evening symphony. Good time of year for bugs.

  18. RUN
good Horton Hears a Twenty Two 21.01 mi 03:01 08:35 pace

Ran up into Kenosha for the first time. Nice cool morning for a 21 mile run. Have been feeling slow on these longer runs (like over 9:00 when my race pace is ~7:40) so I tried to keep it around 8:4... read more

Still lots of water everywhere, tinkling and splashing along the roadside ditches and through the woods in places that are normally quiet and still in the early morning.

This is what I mean by a "progressive" run... starting slowly, and just kind of speeding up without really trying as I warm up.

  20. RUN
great Gages Lake 6.01 mi 00:51 08:25 pace
