  1. RUN
    2/2 8 mi 01:02 07:46 pace

You can skip steps in a Garmin Workout using the Lap key, so I was able to continue with 5 miles "moderate" (goal MP + 20 seconds per mile) and then final 3 miles with 400m hard (by feel)... read more

  2. RUN
    good 1/2 7.4 mi 01:10 09:26 pace

Easy warm-up. Realized at mile 7 Garmin wasn't actually following the Workout I'd programmed, so I stopped.

  3. RUN
good Another Six 6.02 mi 00:59 09:45 pace

Felt a bit better than yesterday. Going to be hot today! Gotta get up early for tomorrow's long run.

  4. RUN
alright Easy Six 6.08 mi 00:57 09:23 pace

Urgh, definitely sore and stiff from last night's fartlek session. Took it easy!

  5. RUN
great Thursday Usual 7.58 mi 01:00 07:54 pace

Felt tired at the start, but pretty good towards the end. 20 minutes easy, 5 cycles of fartlek (3 mins HMP-ish effort, 1 mins easy, repeat for 20 total minutes), then 20 minutes easy.

Timed it so the sun would set halfway through, worked out nicely.

Nice fartlek session, Stephen! Those ones can be kinda hit or miss for me.. they always seem harder than they sound. Looks like you ran it well!

  6. RUN
    good 50 Minutes Easy 6.04 mi 00:54 08:58 pace

No storms in the area, just a bit of rain blowing over. Kind of a boring run, but that was fine.

  7. RUN
good Tiny Hill Repeats 6.19 mi 01:00 09:41 pace

Took it easy, kept it short, did 10 hill repeats on the nearest sledding hill. It's only 8 seconds high, gotta find a taller one, but then I have to drive.

Wish I could find a hill that big here.. haha. Flat as a pancake in ND. Way to make the most of what ya got! Nice run, Stephen!

You run parking garages, right? I was in San Francisco last week, no problem finding hills there!

First time I've heard of a hill measured in terms of time. Way to make it work.

The hill repeats are supposed to be 10-15 seconds uphill, but the hill is too short!

  9. RUN
good Golden Gate 14.04 mi 01:49 07:46 pace

Tired, but managed to bang out my traditional Golden Gate run. Got it down to 14 miles. Very clear morning, unlike last year. Oh well, Slacker Hill will have to wait.

“Congrats on getting out while everyone else was still sound asleep to rip through a pretty fast and hilly half-marathon.”
