it was perfect outside today. temps in the 60s. clear skies. no wind. I couldn't wait to get off work and hit the pavement. I rushed home, changed clothes and promptly fell asleep for two hours, haha. :-)
When I got up I thought about ditching the run altogether but that would have been the easy way out. Instead I pushed myself out the door with the intention of doing 7 miles. A quarter mile into the run I started to try and talk myself into doing 5 instead. When I got to the 4 mile mark the song Lose Yourself from the movie 8 Mile came on my iPod and motivated me to turn down a street that I knew would extend the run beyond the 5 i talked myself into. It ended up adding a conveniently appropriate 3 miles to the trip, giving me a total of 8 miles overall.
I did make a crucial, life-altering, ridiculous error in judgement before leaving the house though. I forgot to put on my compression shorts. My thighs are now incredibly chapped and i'm walking around the apartment like Redd Foxx! Oh the pain... :-P

Thanks! I told myself I wasnt going to punk out and the weather was just too perfect to not take advantage. Forgetting my shorts was a lesson learned but I doubt i'll do it again. :-)
