Ran 15.5 minutes (1.52 miles) without stopping!!! Not sure how my pace was so slow, must have been jogging slower so I could run longer. Which is what I am aiming for so need to be ok with that. I did have the kids on their bikes with me and had to jog in place a couple times when crossing busy streets. But I walked maybe 9 minutes out of 35. Usually walk 2 run 2 so that is a big improvement in endurance. Speed work will come later. I need to work on finding the right meal to eat before running as I can't go on empty. After the first mile I start feeling like I dont have enough energy and if I havent ate enough I feel nausious (how do you spell that???) {OK, had the time wrong it was 34 not 35 min. SOOOOO a little better}

How far is that in Kilometers...I do about 5kl in 35 mins at a easy pace..today did it in 32 mins but was running my poor little heart out...hehe

5k is 3.2 miles. That is what I am striving for but the kids were annoying me and ready to go home so stopped a lil short. Just looked it up 1 mile = 1.609 kl or 1kl = .621 miles. So I did just short of a 5k run. I ran so long at the beginning and on an almost empty stomach so I was out of energy by the end. But building endurance before I work on speed. I am going to have to work hard if I want to beat you ;)-

I'm not into speed myself...I tell myself its the distance I want to go not the time, and then I relax and enjoy myself, if I do time like today its such a mental battle...I want to run to keep the weight off, nothing else really....maybe next summer try a 5kl fun run...with no pressure.
U doing well..

You're doing great Kristy - that is not a bad pace at all. Building endurance is my goal too though every now and then I try to push the speed for fun. I usually pay for it later though. I like to eat a banana before I run and never makes me nauseous plus the potassium is good for the muscles.

Bananas are my usual pre workout or pre run meal too. Love them. Lately I havent been running as frequently and everytime I buy bananas the kids gobble them up before I get out to run. I am not too worried about speed either, just yet, just curious how my time didnt go down when i went from walking half the time down to walking less than a third of the time. All with time.. endurance is the key right now!
