Weighed my back pack...14lbs. Heavier than I thought. That's gotta count for something.

haha It's probably going to count for a tired low back! Nice additional challenge.

So far no back issues. It forces me to keep a good focus on my form and core. I look like an idiot though, I think.

Lake Chabot - Brazen new year... 13.1 mi 02:33 11:40 pace

Slow going but great race. My plan was to finish around 2:30 and treat this more as a long run with a group than a race. This course was harder than I expected. Fortunately the rain held out for... read more

Well done Ben! I think pretty much everyone walked some of those hills. The course was definitely a lot more difficult than I expected. Great way to start the year though... and great meeting you too! See you at the next event :)

    Lake temescal 2 mi 00:18 09:00 pace

Quick couple of laps to loosen up before the half tomorrow. I'm gonna take it slow tomorrow. I've been considering downgrading to the 10k but I think I'm good for a conservative 13 in the mud.

My iPad sometimes makes typing choices for me. Usually it helps...sometimes its embarrassing and sometimes its complete gibberish. I need a proofreader. It was a fun run where ever I was.

Great run, Ben! I had a deer sighting once and managed to take a picture from my phone but it's a bit far. Never got to see one again when I got back a few times since. It's a good motivation for me though, since it's part of a hilly route so I always look forward to it each time I pass by :)
