Hey, 50 miles of that race is an accomplishment - and making a good decision is another one. Just toeing the line is inspirational to me. Good job!

Good call if it wasn't working for ya. 50 miles in that altitude is really amazing. Rock star! I've been loving my MT100s, but I've got the NB758s, and just can't get them to fit right.

I can't imagine doing 50 miles in that elevation with only a day for my body to adjust!!! Ouchy on the toes. Glad you are okay.

Wow, you are an awesome runner. Sorry that your toes are mangled but that is a crazy course. I can only dream of getting there.

The toes will heal. Your mind will heal. And the experience you gained will last. Congrats. And stay away from those NB's.

Good job, hard decision to make. I have had to make a similar decision during a much shorter race, but maturity and smarts stops you from damaging yourself. I have my first 100 miler in a few weeks, getting nervous.

    Congrats:

its not a buckle but maybe it will still mean something. i think 50 mi anywhere is incredible and the 50 you did were simply amazing. it takes more courage to make the call than it does to grind down your body. great job.

Sorry I missed you while in Leadville and that your day ended a bit early. In '07, my feet were brutalized so I know how difficult that can be. 50 miles on that course is a real challenge and you should be proud of your achievement. Way to go!

I know how hard it is to back out of a race...... that's why I'm injured and haven't really run in months. Excellent choice!
