Well the good news is I didn't drown, but the bad news is I did drink half of the water in the pool.

When I started swim lessons 6 months ago I signed up for personalized training plans at www.swimplan.com. Well I had forgotten about it and just remembered earlier this week. So today was my first swim workout using one of their plans. This was the longest swim workout I've ever done to date:

Warm-Up:
4 x 25 yd Freestyle Swim (10 sec rest in between laps)

Build Up (repeat 4 times):
1 x 25 yd Freestyle Catch
1 x 25 yd Streamline Kicking

Core (repeat 6 times):
1 x 25 yd Freestyle Breath Left
1 x 25 yd Freestyle Breath Right
1 x 50 yd Freestyle Bilateral Breathing

Warm Down:
1 x 100 yd Freestyle Easy

The deets:
* The Catch Up took getting used to but I liked it.
* The Streamline Kicking was hard and I so wanted to use a kickboard but didn't. This is where I drank a lot of water
* Although the plan called for 10 second rests breaks in between laps I know I took 15-20 second breaks at the minimum.

This was hard and it really tired me out. I still need to work on my breathing but I'm glad I finished it and can't wait to try it again...probably on Sunday.
