alright Mid-Day Run 3.93 mi 00:40 10:11 pace

Workout was to be:

1 min @ 10 min/mile
4 x 3 min @ 9:15 min/mile
1 min @ 10 min/mile

- It was so hot.
- It was a new trail with unexpected hills.
- Garmin reading was off during run so I really didn't know what I pace I was at.
- Did I say it was hot?

How do you people do mid-day runs? I don't think I'll be doing them again any time soon...at least not until November.

I can't do mid-day runs either. Way too hot for me. I go at 5:30am or treadmill if hubby had to work in the morning.

Mid-day runs here in Singapore are for camels. Ugh can't even think in that heat.

    Thanks everyone!

@Jennifer: I'm from Hawaii. If I still lived there, the TM would be my best friend.

@Michael: I've been to Singapore. I don't know how you run at all in that humidity. I so admire you for being able to!

yup, my noonish time run in the heat was something different. I felt good and hydrated beforehand, although I know what you mean about waiting til Nov b4 u run in the heat again.

I don't know about CA, but in TX when I do mid-day run around high noon. Drink a lot of water and/or 1 sport drink with it. Of course use sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. Even on a cloudy day the sun is still dangerous.

@Alistair: It was hot on the Peninsula, so I can only imagine what it was like in the East Bay.

@Martin: Thanks for the advice, I was ill-prepared today.

The heat definitely makes the runs harder. Good that you still pushed yourself through it.

Naomi, I agree with you. Mid day runs when it's nice and cold out sound good.
