Thankfully the rest of the run went pretty good. Actually very well. I wore compression socks and lathered some Ibu gel before starting and didn't have any shin splints. I also took Layla 's advice and tried to shorten my stride.

    ibu gel? That sounds like something, Naomi - do you get it a drugstore? Do you think it would help with quads and hams?

    Great Job Naomi! Have you been rolling out those calves real well, my boyfriend has to do all kinds of plyo's for his shins and then stick a lacrosse ball deep into them after working out so his shin splints don't cause him problems

    Nice job, Naomi. Good to hear you are shin splints free. What compression socks are you using? I have used compression sleeves but not sure if it helped 'cuz the shin splints still comes and goes.

    @Thomas: It's Ibuprofen in gel form. You can't get it in the US without a prescription so whenever a colleague or friend goes overseas, I have them pick up some for me from the drugstores.

    @Lauren: I have been using the TP Therapy Ball to roll out the calves. I think this has to do with my form. What kind of plyos does he do?

    @Kim: I have Balega compression socks but I do also want to try CEP ones as I've heard good things about them.
