I woke up feeling sore from yesterday's run. My R hamstring was feeling a little tender and I really didn't feel like running up MLK Drive today. So, I decided to run the 5K instead of the 10K. It was just a fun run for me, an opportunity to see Alyssa and Sandra. I didn't wear my timing chip and wasn't even going to turn on my Garmin, but ended up doing so at the last minute. I didn't look at it until the final mile when I realized I wasn't that far off of my 2+ year old 5K PR. Turns out I missed it by 12 sec. Kinda wished I tried harder in the first 2 miles, but I'm not that bummed about it. This was a perfect 5K race course - nice slight decline with an ever so slight incline that flattened out at the end. Overall a very fun, laid back race in Golden Gate Park.
Soooo fun! We should do this every year -- but next year I'm doing the 5k, haha. So good to see you this morning... great job!!

Nice job, Naomi!! Especially coming so close to your PR while you were out smelling roses the first few miles. Guess you'll just have to run another one with me one day :) And yes, I am totally down for running this one next year again.
