A cold morning, but sunny blue skies and very little wind. Perfect for a new 10K PR! My official time was 42:04, which smashes my old record! Thrilled!, 1 °C, WC: -3 °C, 20km/h N, 64%

Cheers Keith. Since Showa-mura I've been including at least one hill in every workout and have been doing lunges before bed. Looks like it's paid off because the hills in that half-marathon felt much harder than those in today's race.

Extra stats: I finished 37th out of 236 men-under-40. The first 5K was also a PR, in 20:41. What a great day!

I'm sure the hills in training really paid off -- and you don't even have to kill yourself on them... I find they're really good for core strength, improving running form and speed. I'm sure if you keep them in the mix once a week you'll keep getting faster. :)
