Blistering pace there! Good idea to bring the run forward -- will give you some extra time to rest before the half :)

Thanks Stefan. I usually run in the mornings when it's about 4 degrees, but it was 12 degrees this evening which is probably why I was so perky! I'll do a slow 3K on Friday and that will be all before Sunday.

Hi Stefan, it's a 10km, two 5K laps of a hilly flower park. It's the first of four races over five weekends.... then my running season is over and I can relax for a bit before attempting my first full marathon in November. :)

Good you managed to get out; fitness won't have gone after a week, but not surprising it felt odd. If the shins are sore just grab more frequent short run like these and keep the pace easy and foot turnover really high. Do you have a soft surface you can run on too?

Thanks Stefan. There isn't any grass around here, only rice fields, but I'm wearing my old, heavy, super-thick cushioned shoes instead of my thin-soled racing shoes. Running on cushions is kind of weird because you can't feel the ground, but they're good for recovery runs.
