RUN
great 20 mi 03:45 11:15 pace
I am thrilled about this run. 1. When I began it was 36 degrees. I have never run in that low of a temp, brrrrr. 2. I got a big blister on the bottom of my foot, again that has never happened befo... read more

Yeah! 20-milers are awesome. Those numbers look a lot like what I go thru on long runs. Usually peak around 3-5 miles and then settle down and level out for the rest of the run.

I also have 2 dogs, but they are golden retreivers and would never dream of being viscious. By the way, I am still so happy about my run. I feel GREAT today and that is a first.

Goldies are the best! My first dog was a golden. I currently have a dalmatian and a greyhound. Isn't that awesome when you still feel great about a run? I can't even imagine doing 20, you should be very proud.

The run was okay except I had to potty from about .5 mile through to the end with nowhere to stop... and I don't mean number 1. BG 97/289 ???

Maybe your urgent need there at the end (hahah pun) shot your glucose up! I have had that happen to me halfway thru a run (the urgent need) and it is NOT fun. Had to slow to a walk a few times to keep things safe!!

Great run. Perfect weather!!! bg 156-239-117-115-160. I am happy with that.

Very nice. Good numbers. Did you bolus after the 239? Sometimes I'll do a correction that is no more than half of what I'd normally do to correct a high.

I am extremely insulin sensitive when I am working out. When I do bolus it is TINY. My pump said I should have corrected with 1.6u. I actually did .5u and ended up having to eat 5 more gu packs just to keep above 100. It worked out, just a little sticky.

This week has been terrible blood sugar wise. My cgm looks like an EKG strip- up-down-up-down... I have to plan what time I am going to run 3 hours ahead so I don't have any bolus insulin on board... read more

Hey Nicole, sorry you are having an "off" week. I hate that!!! Seems like sometimes once you go low you can't get back up. So....do you love your CGM?? I don't use a pump, but I like the idea of a CGM. I have read where the results are delayed somewhat and not always accurate, just wondering what you think?
Thanks.

Duh, I guess if your CGM is part of your pump you would wear it while running. Thanks for the info, I am going to talk to my doc about writing me a prescription for one and see if my insurance will help out.

Yes I wear it when I run and I have gotten to where I rely on it when I run. I didn't mind injections either, just carrying insulin and syringes with me everywhere.
