      Nice run Ruth. I trust the holidays went well for you. I hope that you are able to start getting more runs in, if that's something that you want as well. Almost 8k is a pretty long distance without having run in 3 weeks. So great job!

      Hope you were OK in the end, Ben! The gazelles were running away from me (though I was at the edge of the highway, not sure if they were running away *because* of me, or just running. I've only ever seen one or two at a time; it was quite a sight to see 8 of them all together.

      heatstroke. He collapsed in the middle of the trail. They sent a 4x4 out with a kiddy pool to cool him down and bring him back. An hour in cold water and his temp was still sky high. Announcement tonight at the prize ceremony said all the poorly runners were recovering.

    DH took car to work, so I had to walk the kids to school. Left a little later than planned, so walked a little quicker and got them there on time.

      It's nice to be forced into a walk sometimes - I always wonder why I don't do it more often but when the car is there, the walking option isn't always considered!

    Ran home from kids' school, took the long way round. First 3km in 18-ish mins; last 2 in about 20. Threw in a little bit of trail running too.

      Thursday. I'm running another relay ultra (all trails) and it's just starting to sink in! I have the longest section, eek! Then I guess it'll be the Jerusalem marathon in march, but I've not decided what distance I want to do yet for that.

      Thanks Ben. After someone died in the tel Aviv marathon, many races want a doctors note. This one just "strongly recommended" to get a check up. I know in generally healthy, so it was more a formality than anything else.

      Life since the ceasefire has returned to normal- kids back to school, me back to pounding the pavement. And the teachers didn't strike the first few days back! I think everyone was pleased to get back to routine.
