Living up to the new nickname - the marathon was all about fun! My friend Cara (as BatGirl) and I started in Elite B and ran a blazing half marathon - stopping along with the way to get in water and bathroom breaks. The second half was when the heat poured in and well - cramps in the legs, feet and numbness (blisters??) set in too. Truly I stayed hydrated, but my stomach didn't feel up to much of a push at the end and just hung in there thanks to my amazing support of a husband and super hero friend Cara! It's been a long time since I have run a marathon in more than 31/2 hours and it was tough to be out there that long & in the heat - we ran the last 3 non-stop. 3 bathroom breaks & 3 medical breaks and LOTS more stories to tell (Check my blog tomorrow!) - finish time was satisfactory considering I am 2/3 of the way thru chemo and BALD! :) Although baldness should help me run faster right? :) A blood blister on the toe, blisters on the bottom of my feet - cramping in my legs and feet with just a little numbness in my hands & toes... Other than that I was darn proud to be a cancer survivor saying Our Father along the course! :) (more to come!)

Truly awesome, inspiring run by my favorite two super heroes! Looking forward to more on your blog.

Don't know how I missed this post earlier... I was looking for it. Congrats on a very strong finish to a very tough race. I know that unseasonable heat took its toll on many runners -- including those who are not in the midst of chemo...
