  1. RUN
    good 3.54 mi 00:38 10:35 pace

I am definitely not used to running in warm weather. Accidentally forgot to turn off the Garmin after I stopped walking so distance and time included the 0.5 mile walk home.

  2. RUN
    good 3.34 mi 00:32 09:36 pace

IT band worries at the start but went away. Damn hilly.

  3. RUN
    alright 3 mi 00:28 09:24 pace

    Time to start running again.

  5. FIT
    blah Kettlebells

Still really weak. And sore from the earlier workout.

  6. FIT
    alright Kettlebell "workout" 00:30

I am one weak dude. Just doing two kettlebell exercises in less than 30 minutes was more than enough. I am following an old RKC workout routine. I clearly need it.

One of my girlfriends is a CrossFitter. She has become incredibly strong over this last year and now instructs some of the workouts.

  7. RUN
good GW Parkway Classic 10.09 mi 01:23 08:13 pace

Easy run to close out the spring race season. Pretty happy that this is my easy 10 mile pace. Going to take some time off and focus on some resistance training before the full marathon cycle starts... read more

  9. RUN
    blah 3.01 mi 00:28 09:17 pace

Just couldn't get motivated to run at all this weekend. Felt a bit of the IT band at the start, but luckily it went away. Hard to believe I PR'ed at 10 miles just a week ago, when I could... read more

Sometimes it just doesn't feel good... That's ok maybe your body is telling you to take a couple of days off!! That doesn't seem like many miles on those shoes - I haven't had the Pure Connects but have had several Adrenalines and usually get about 400 + miles on them

Running is so weird. Maybe you just need some time off. Hope you feel better.

  10. After the 10 mile PR, I decided to take 4 days off. Now my IT band at the hip end is killing me whenever I stand up. I guess that means I've been sitting too much.

Oh! I missed your 10 mile PR post. I'll have to read that. I've been having a ton of issues with my lower back due to a tight hip flexor, from sitting right after my half PR two weeks ago. I completely emphasize and hope you get it sorted out!

  11. RUN
great Cherry Blossom Ten Miler 10.09 mi 01:17 07:38 pace

By all indications, this should have been an easy/low-effort ten mile run through the Cherry Blossoms: I had hardly run since the RNR half marathon a few weeks ago; I ate the absolute wrong things ... read more

That's a heck of a race! Look at how strong you finished! Personally, I'm a big proponent of going out faster than you think you can handle --sometimes we find out our own expectations are way too limiting. Great job!

@Ram: You know, if you asked me if I would be able to run that fast the morning of the run, I would have laughed and said definitely not. I really think this was one of those times where I just needed to actually get past my mental block, run fast, and see what happened. My point is, I bet you have it in you as well. Have a zen moment and just let go, run, and hang on for the ride, my friend.

      Brie Congrats
      Congrats:

Isn't that funny that it turned out so well? You're lucky that your brain didn't sabotage you, cause that seems to happen to me when I do all the wrong things. Your pace is phenomenal, great job pulling in such a stellar speedy PR!!

  12. RUN
    blah 3 mi 00:29 09:45 pace

Another slow, mojo-less run. Not a good running week for me at all. Doesn't bode well for the Cherry Blossom Ten Miler this Sunday.

  13. RUN
    tired 9.96 mi 01:36 09:40 pace

Was not feeling the mojo today at all. The last three miles seemingly went on forever. Legs were feeling heavy and I just felt really tired the entire run.

  14. RUN
    great 6 mi 00:55 09:10 pace

Easy miles. Looking forward to a day off tomorrow.

  15. RUN
    alright 3.62 mi 00:34 09:21 pace

I was supposed to run 4 today, but I ran a new route and it ended up being slightly less than that. Had a little IT band pain for the first mile but thankfully it went away. I needed to get out and... read more

    alright 5.62 mi 00:49 08:47 pace
