Dragged myself to the treadmill, internally kicking, screaming, and making excuses all the way there. Stared down the beige wall 2 ft in front of my face, thought about the ongoing pains (not severe--just nagging) I'm having in my R sciatic, and watched the rain falling out of the corner of my eye. I was giving myself permission to quit before I even started. I was making deals with myself about how much I really needed to do.

Fortunately, the perfect song came on the ipod -- slow but persistent. It helped me to focus my thinking outside of myself. I asked the Lord to help me persevere. 30 minutes later I had completed the longest straight run (without walking breaks) that I've done in 6 weeks! The mind is powerful, but The Maker of the mind is more powerful. I love seeing Him show up in my everyday life!

So glad I dragged my butt to the treadmill!

Way to fight through & push yourself both mentally & physically. I truly believe 90% of running is mental (and i need to work on that!) Nice run!!!!
