After traveling much of yesterday, we finished last night driving through a violent storm for over an hour ... very tiring. The two oldest grandkids were sleeping in a "fort" in the living room, having tried and failed to stay awake for our delayed arrival. Then I hopped out of bed & was out the door before they woke. The storm had left the air temporarily clean and cool (not to last until the end of the run, but oh, well) I sopping wet when I got back and Braden (oldest at 7 came running up for a hug--he screeched to a halt at the first touch and decided the greeting could wait until after the shower. Now clean, refreshed and hugged, I am off with the family to the farmer's market and then brunch. A great start to the weekend. BTW-Purple Cow is the name of an old ice cream stand in Waynesboro, VA, as well as the road it is on. Ran out & back, past a house with a Confederate flag hanging in the front yard ... it was easy to tell I was in rural Virginia.
