Not great, but considering how my runs have been going recently, I'll totally take it. No snow to dodge today... hallelujah! Actually ran a little longer than 3 miles, but the Garmin was wig... read more

Carb up the night prior and morning of. Good options are squash and bananas at night with some fats, and morning of banana/squash scramble or 'pancakes' work pretty decent. For the breakfasts, 1 small banana (or 1/2-2/3c squash) blended with 2 eggs and some cinnamon and vanilla. It sucks but it's worth it. Personally, the in-run fueling options are the hardest.

Visit Whole9's forums, you'll find tons of advice on there. In short: sweet potatoes, bananas are your best carb sources. But your pre-run fuel is not getting burned, it just has to digest nicely as you're running. You can even run fasted. It's not until you're talking about 2 hours+ that you need to in-run fuel.
