My beloved Trek. We broke up over a little incident that ended up in a visit to the Summit Co. ER, but we're back together now.

great MTB - Sugarbottom 8 mi 01:00 8.0mph pace
I used to bike these trails a lot, but gave them up while I was pursuing Boston as I've ended up in the ER mountain biking more times than I care to count. I'm far less skilled and brave... read more

I have tons of shoes. Just ask Ross. Problem is they are all mostly clearance shoes or thrift store, yard sale shoes. I must admit my favorite soccer shoes have always come from yard sales, but clearance sale running shoes are not always the best idea.

It seems to me they will have to give in and put the boost in more of a lower drop shoe.

good Maffitt Reservoir 6.5 mi 01:02 09:32 pace

Garmin 910XT - anyone have one and what do you think of if it? I'm thinking of upgrading. I'm looking for long battery life and something that would work well with simming and biking. I... read more

Not sure if you saw the comment on my post where you asked this, but the short version is that I really, really like it for the swimming, but the course tracking blows and the run pacing is erratic. I think there is something funky going on with the GPS and it's reception - the 305 was much more stable in both respects, so I know Garmin is capable of writing the required software. Run pacing is actually easy to deal with - after a while, you just get used to averaging what it is saying in your head.

Other than those two issues - standard Garmin.

hey thanks Ryan! Do you have it set to one mile averaging/splits or is it doing this on real time pacing?

good Beer Core 00:40
Much too busy of a morning so this had to wait until this evening. I like coffee core better although the beer wasn't too bad.

Maybe I should start a class! Funny thing is I am actually teaching a core conditioning class next fall, although I don't think the beer thing will sit too well with the dean.....

I've put a new blog post up. I'd love to get opinions on my next adventure. http://runtopia.blogspot.com/2013/05/help-me-choose-my-50-miler.html

I think it is awesome that you are planning this! As of this minute I am planning to do one when I turn 50 in two years. I think all of your choices are good ones. If you forced me to pick, I would choose Surf the Murph but Des Plaines may be a close 2nd. And I saw this link yesterday. Good tips.
