I dropped the car off at the dealership for warranty work and ran home. Legs were toast from the workout yesterday, especially my calves. Wearing my spikeless flats always seems to make my calves scream.

Are you normally(in your regular trainers) a forefoot or heel striker? Just thinking maybe the flats are pushing you to land forefoot, hence the calf burn.

Scott - For sure they are pushing me more forefoot. Add that with the speed work on the track and it's a painful combination.
To answer your question, I WAS a heel striker but now strike more flat-forefoot.

2-a-day, if you run back to pick the car up. Awesome. You see Brooks' tweet about their heel-to-toe ratios and such?:

That Green Silence is fairly flat.

Too bad the Green Silence look like bowling shoes in the pics.

I was curious too if you were going to run back to the dealership! great pace even for feeling the burn.

Andy - Why would the ST4 and Racer 6 have the same 12mm drop as their trainers? That seems strange to me. The Tarthers I recently bought have a 9mm drop and aren't even flats (Hyperspeeds are just 5mm diff).

Justin - It does seem strange... I used to run in wrestling shoes after wrestling practice back in high school. 0mm diff. pretty much. Forced off the heel then.

Andy - I'm not running back as I have an appointment and have to teach a lesson as soon as it's done. I'd rather not show up to either of those sweaty. Not to mention the things I need to bring with me that aren't already in my car.

8.5 in about an hour is great!

I think I saw you running down Piccadilly. I waved, but you seemed to be in the zone. What a great idea. Now that I have been running longer distances, I am going to use that one the next time my car needs service...drop and run. :)

Funny - I was planning on running 12 miles to pick up my car from the shop tomorrow AM. Then I read this. Nice run!
