A new PR with 17:25

I knew this race was going to be fast as it's really flat. They changed the course this year and as a result had a bunch of turns. I have no idea why.

Total positive splits with the first mile being 5:32 and the 3rd being 5:55. But, I went out hard hoping I could keep the pace to get me a PR and it paid off in the end. As much as I want to critique my performance, I read the other day that you should never complain about a PR. So I won't.

nicely done! I'm glad that also gave you enough time to catch your breath, relax, then give me that final rallying cry at the end! Thanks! Good run today!

Incredible race, Matt! Congratulations on the PR! I'm glad the "block" from the high school runner didn't effect you too much. I wouldn't know personally, but I guess it can get pretty competitive in the front pack sometimes. Have you experienced this before? Us, slower runners are curious what goes on in the front :)

Great PR! From what little I know, going out fast is never a bad idea in a 5k. I think you'll be hitting the 16's as the weather warms back up.

I think that is a good philosophy to follow. If you PR'ed, YOU PR'ed! No if's, and's, or but's. Great job!
