great speed workout 8.71 mi 00:59 06:44 pace

I wanted to take a break from the track so I just did an "on/off" workout on the street. "Off" as in slow, "on" as in fast.

mile times:
7:44, 7:48, 5:46, 5:59, 7:14, 6:14, 7:06, 6:49 (avg pace for the .71 mile)
Sprinted the last mile back home:
5:54

Forgot to add, 65 degrees with 99% humidity. I'd rather have run in the rain.

Tremendous! Love the 2 sub-6's early in the run, and the sprint finish back to the house.

When's your next race? PR here we come!

I think I might try a 5 miler on Saturday. But it depends on a number of things...

Cool. I know you're busy with your band and all that. Good luck if you race one...

I'm running the CHKD RunWalk for the Kids 8k in Norfolk on Saturday. Definitely going all out for a PR. Should be several fast guys to make things interesting too.

I forgot to add that I actually wore my HR monitor. Avg: 165.
Only a 174 during my fastest mile.

You seem to have a rather efficient engine. The Lance Armstrong of running?

Do you know your resting and max heart rates? Just curious..

I've never done a resting but did get my max up to 196 after a 5k earlier in the year.

Ah, nice to have youth on your side. My max is 179, resting 38. Not a bad range I guess.

@ Matt and Steve. Good luck gentlemen on your races this weekend! Taking the weekend off. Max for me is 180 and resting is around 35 (the Garmin hates that)!
