Apple Blossom 10k Official time: 38:23
Nice negative split. first 5k 19:21 second: 19:02
Overall I felt really strong and comfortable.
This is a very special race for 2 reasons.
1: it's the biggest race in my hometown
2: it's the first race I did last year to kick off me getting back into running.
Last year's time was 47:33 so this was a HUGE improvement in just a year. My last 10k (my old PR) was 44:47 and that was August of last year. SInce that last 10k, I have run 11 5ks and 2 marathons. So I was really nervous of how to pace myself for a 10k and exactly how fast I could go. First 3 miles were in a fairly heavy rain but then it cleared off and turned out to be pretty nice.
49th overall out of 1207 and 6th in my age group out of 69.
I can tell this race is getting more popular. I bet it has to do with the $3200 in total cash for the top 5 finishers for both male and females. That tends to attract a lot of elite runners. The top 4 males were all under 30 minutes with the top 20 under 35:00.

Well done!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
@Trudy actually, at the gig last night, my nose was itching a lot. I've also heard that's a sign of people talking about you. Weird.

Dude, awesome PR. Pace was unreal. I know what it's like having old PRs that I would crush nowadays. I won't mention those times until have new PRs for them. :-P It must be DailyMile. Everyone seems to be PR-ing, left and right. Congrats! By the way, I may schedule your 10K next year. I heard the event was a lot of fun.
