Not a lot of late night activity on dailymile. Could it be athletes are morning people? Or forced to be due to race start times? Good night, all.

I do NOT envy the LA Marathoners this part: "shuttles will start at 3:00 a.m., and the last shuttle will leave at 6 a.m."

Just like Disney...it was tough.

Hahaha "Just like Disney" My thoughts EXACTLY.

@Peter and @Devin you just convinced me that running a Disney Half marathon might not be the greatest idea. The only time I liked to see 3am was when I was nursing my children and even then it was still not great!

Colleen - don't get me wrong, it was an early start, but definitely worth it. Disney was one of the best races I have ever run - an absolute blast!

Friend who grew up in El Salvador asked about the chia fresca in my refrigerator. Said her mom made it for them all the time when they were kids, and she'd never seen anyone here using chia. I thought that was cool. :)

Getting more comfortable with Garmin Sync on dailymile, and liking it more and more. I still want charts for heart rate and elevation, and also mile splits, so still using GarminConnect for those. Still quicker to get all the workout data in here with ... read more

I can agree with everything you just posted. I am sure it is coming in time.

I agree, search only by keyword is no good. If only I had known sooner! I want to search by keyword, gear, as well as any word in the workout description.
Oh, and an iphone app. :-)

Michael ran 4.75 miles in 42 mins goodRunning down my cold – 4.75 mi / 00:42 08:54 pace
First run after being off sick for several days. Felt pretty good. Left leg got a bit tight toward the end, so I did some stretching and foam rolling after. Using the Garmin importer here on Dailymile again. It did pick up heart rate data, which is coo... read more

Dan: Thanks. The last few days my energy was really low, so I napped instead of running. Today I'm feeling better, so I got back out there. Felt pretty good. :)

Michael walked 1.5 miles in 24 mins goodWalking the dog – 1.5 mi / 00:25 16:36 pace
I'm gonna say this felt good, because relative to how I've been feeling, it did. Still not 100%, but took the dog for a jaunt around the hood and didn't feel too bad. It was more walk than run, but I jogged a couple times just to see how it felt. Garmi... read more

Glad you're feeling a bit better. Wish I had a pet to take out. Just build up to it =]

Michael, glad to hear you have a bit more pep in the step! I am curious as you are not the first person who has said this to me. My friend's doctor said she started running in 'running socks'?? And this helped her to regain strength in her injured feet. Any info would be enlightening :)

I would still always pick VFF's over Free's. Also, I have noticed if I don't pull my foot off the ground there is more feeling in the shins. As Michael said, when I run I am more focused on pulling my feet off the ground then how they land because in VFF's they generally fall where they need too.

Thanks, Ty. I agree with you on proper form. It's possible to run with good form in pretty much any shoe, some just make it easier than others, and none at all is about the best coach you can get. Certainly the cheapest. :)

Dan: There are deep and thorny issues there around income, education, religion, and I expect many other things probably not able to be explored in full here. To me supporting better eating in public school is part of my general belief that we need to support healthier eating in our culture where ever possible. And certainly if it's gov't sponsored, my pref is that it's healthy. Thanks for chiming in, all! :)

I haven't noticed much late night activity either. I'm not much of a morning person myself and find it difficult to run anytime before 9am. Good night!
