Run with Matt 6 mi 00:52 08:35 pace

Matt J. was nice enough to extend an invitation to run with me this evening, and I was more than happy to take him up on the offer. I run this route on nearly every run, but was still surprised at ... read more

    Warm-Up with Howie 2 mi 00:19 09:28 pace

Started out feeling a little sluggish (as I did at rock climbing last night), but once I got warmed up my energy returned.

I love seeing Howie "bound" home on the last straightaway back ... read more

    6 Miles 6 mi 00:52 08:38 pace

Legs felt pretty good, but HR was a few bpm higher than usual. Probably a sign that this week's stepback is coming at a good time.

Thanks Diane! I was tempted to take Howie for a short run on Sunday to round off the weekly mileage total, but thought it better to stick to the plan.

    Warm-Up with Howie 2 mi 00:19 09:33 pace

Got the pup out for a few miles tonight. He had fun, I had fun and now he's got a little bit less energy. Everyone's happy!

    John Dick Memorial 50K 31.12 mi 07:39 14:45 pace

This was such a fun run! A group of us were out celebrating Krista's 30th birthday by running 30 miles (plus one, for luck). ;-)

You continue to inspire the heck out of me Marty. Wish I still lived in Wisconsin so I could beg to tag along on one of your adventures.

Thanks Ryan! I assume you mean I inspire you in the sense that "If that fat ass can do it..." ;-) Any time you're back in town, let me know and we'll try to put together a run out on the trails.

Chased Matt the trails around for 3 hours. Then got pizza and beer. What a great day!

    15 + 2 as a warm-up = the longest distance I've run in my Altra Instincts.

  8. RUN
    Warm-Up with Howie 3 mi 00:28 09:26 pace

Since he seemed to know our 2 mile route so well, I figured I'd throw Howie a curveball tonight and take him for 3 miles (with different turns through the neighborhood than usual). He didn't seem t... read more

    5 mi 00:44 08:53 pace

Five miles to round off the 7 I had scheduled today. Worried it might be a little icy, since it rained all day and then dropped below freezing. There were a few slick spots, but overall not too bad... read more

Thanks guys! I'd much prefer running on clear, dry sidewalks but not knowing whether there's ice out there forces me to keep my weight directly over my feet (not overstriding)... so it might actually be a GOOD thing for me. Either that or I'm just trying to rationalize running on icy sidewalks. ;-)

    Warm-Up with Howie 2 mi 00:19 09:42 pace
