Took the dogs with me, their second run of the day -- but surprisingly they acted like they hadn't been out in days (or maybe unsurprisingly, considering the way they are on a good day). I was OK running, but everything else annoyed the hell out of me. I was irritated most of the time: at Stanley for pulling too hard, stopping to piss and crap every half-mile, or swinging around behind my legs; at Myrna for lagging behind; at the heavier-than-usual traffic that kept me waiting at street corners; at everyone else walking their damn dogs; at people trying to walk down my side of the street; at potholes and broken sidewalk slabs because the goddam city never fixes anything. Trying to remind myself that none of it is personal, and the irritation is entirely self-manufactured. But FFS...

Some days it is better to leave them at home. The constant pulling and almost knocking you over is more irritation than we need sometimes. Mine have a tendency to knock me on my ass. Glad you got it in though.

Reading about the aftermath of your run on your twitter feed was hysterical -- no offense! It was just really, really funny.

    Thanks everybody!

Jorge: The NJ half is on May 2. Still lots of time to prepare. Nik is doing the full.

Ann: I had fully intended to leave em home, but the look on their little pathetic faces...

Rob: Thanks! It's all off now. Woo hoo!
