alright Last week's long run for the 3rd week in a row 9.14 mi 01:50 12:04 pace

Long run. Was unsure how much I should run today -- either catch up on last week’s long run (like I've been doing the last few weeks) or start this week fresh. I decided to do last week’s long run and aimed for 10 miles. Started with an easy 1-miler to the post office to do some mailing for Nik, then took a long, lonely loop I’ve never taken before. I went far out in the boonies almost to our city’s water supply, then up into the back roads of our industrial park where I saw bucket-loaders scrabbling on top of our landfill. I ran past some lonely office buildings and open parking lots, and up to where our airport used to be years ago, and where until recently a bar owner had decorated his front lawn with 14 toilets with signs on them spelling "INDUSTRIAL PARK." Sadly not there anymore. Then I headed back home via a main road. The route was much hillier than I would’ve liked, and I was a bit worn out, so I walked quite a bit. Some stretches were OK, but there were a few steep uphills that thwarted me. By the time I got home, the route ended up being just over 9 miles, and I was nearly out of water and tired so I figured I’d gotten close enough. On my cooldown walk through North Park I scouted a few spots where I might hide a geocache. One, right under a rock, was ideal until I saw someone had scrawled some vulgar graffiti on it. A lot of kids geocache, so I think I’ll skip that spot and look for another.

Overall the run was just OK. I wish I’d felt stronger and gone faster. It’s going to be hard for me to feel good about long runs until I can get my speed to where I want it, and it’s not there yet.

Good run, Dan! I would love your speed for this amount of distance! Enjoyed reading the report and the visuals of your run.

Excellent run Dan and great description. Especially like the use of the word thwarted for some reason.
